What we publish

We focus on practical identification: maker's marks, construction techniques, dating clues, pattern recognition, and realistic value context. Each guide targets one specific topic — a maker, a mark family, a material, or a dating method — rather than broad generalities.

Research standards

• Date ranges, mark descriptions, and construction timelines follow established collector references and are cross-checked before publication.
• When collector consensus is approximate (as with logo dating charts or production windows), we say so explicitly with "circa" ranges rather than false precision.
• Value ranges reflect typical asking and sale prices in collector markets, labeled as educational estimates — never as appraisals. See our valuation disclaimer.
• Known reproduction and fake risks are flagged in any category where they materially affect buyers.

How we use AI

Our product is an AI identification app, and we use AI tools in producing this site — for drafting assistance and generating illustrative images. Every published guide is reviewed by our editorial team for factual accuracy before it goes live, and the identification methods we describe are ones a reader can verify with their own eyes on their own pieces. Illustrative images are labeled by context and are not presented as photographs of specific authenticated antiques.

Independence

This site promotes our own app, and we say so plainly — every guide includes a clearly marked App Store link. We do not accept payment from dealers, auction houses, or appraisal services for coverage or placement, and we do not sell antiques ourselves.

Corrections and updates

Antique scholarship evolves, and we make mistakes like anyone. If you spot an error, email contact@nextpixelapps.in with the page and the correction. We review submissions promptly, fix confirmed errors, and update the affected guide.
